In 2006 I started to make hand made vanilla fudge with a friend to sell at local table top sales.We enjoyed the challenge, and started to sell at local farmers markets.
We developed a selection of flavours such as Chocolate, Chilli Chocoalte, Cinnamon, Rum and Raisin, Treacle, Baileys, Ginger & Coffee.
We also decided that we should approach local shops.We supplied a number of local establishments including farm shops, village shops, garden centres and garages .
We then started having pitches at local shows, such as Romsey show and Gillingham Country fair. We became quite well known and were approached to sell at the NEC in Birmingham. However, it became too much, and we found we were cooking fudge every evening, and packing it until late every night.
As a result we decided it was encroaching too much into our family time, and decided to call it a day.It was a great experience and we learnt loads!
I continued to make fudge for occasional sales, and as wedding favours for people that approached me.
